6% tax means 6% of $3.50

Convert 6% to decimal (move decimal 2 spots to the left): 6% ⇒ .06

Multiply 3.50 with .06 = .21 <-- That's .21 cents of 3.50

That means you have to pay an extra 21 cents. Add that to the $3.50 you had to pay.

$3.50 + $0.21 = $3.71 <-- Price after tax

Find the quotient of 2,300 and (0.4 · 10-8). In your final answer, include all of your calculations.
BigorU [14]
The first number in this item can be also expressed as 2.3 x 10³. Now, dividing the numbers 2.3 and 0.4 will give us an answer of 5.75. There exists a rule which states that when two similar numbers are divided only having different exponents, their exponents should be subtracted. The final answer to this item is therefore,
                                    5.75 x 10¹¹

Rita charged $126 for a DVD player at an interest rate of 15.9%. How much will Rita have to pay for the DVD player after 3 years
Ivahew [28]

Answer:

$ 129.34 will be the total payment made after two months if she made no initial payment

Step-by-step explanation:

annual interest rate = 15.9 %

initial charge = $126

to get the annual interest paid = 15.9% of $126

                                                  = 0.159 * $126 = $20.03

monthly interest paid would be = annual interest  / 12 months

                                                    = 20.03 / 12 = $1.67

hence in 2 months Rita will pay = initial charge + monthly interest * 2

                                                    = $126 + $ 1.67 *2 = $ 126 + $3.34

                                                    = $ 129 .34

Interest rates are always given an annual interest rate.

Your Welcome :D
