If KJ=4 and KM= 2, find ML
adelina 88 [10]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

(whole secant) * (external part) = (tangent)^2

(KL) * (KM) = KJ^2

(KM+ ML) * KM = KJ^2

(2+ ML) * 2 = 4^2

(2+ ML) * 2 =16

Divide each side by 2

(2+ ML)  = 8

Subtract 2 from each side

ML = 6

How to solve a quadratic equation when c=0
kherson [118]
Lets say we have a quadratic equation:

3x^2 + x + 0 = 0

Now, since if we add or subtract 0 from something, the original value stays the same, which means we can write the equation as 3x^2 + x = 0 and ignore the “+0”.

In these kinds of equations, you /can/ use the quadratic formula, but theres a much quicker way. If we factor 3x^2 + x, we get x(3x + 1) = 0. Here, x has two possible values — since the result of the multiplication is 0, that means that either one expression or the other must equal 0. In essence:

If x(3x+1) = 0 then x = 0 or 3x+1 = 0
One of the solutions is that x = 0. Lets find the other.

3x+1=0
3x= -1
x = -1/3

So x1 = 0 and x2 = -1/3. So basically you solve these equations using basic factorization. :)

Kendall surveyed the students at her school to find out if they like horror movies and/or animated movies. the table below shows
zzz [600]
                                         like horror movies        hate horror movies     total
like animated                              21                                 22                       43
doesn't like animated                 56                                  3                        59
total                                             77                                  25                      102

if a student likes horror movies (there are 77 of them)...what is the probability that student also like animated movies.....21/77 or 27%

Find the slope, if it exists, of the line containing the pair of points. (-3,-10) and (-11. - 17)
gregori [183]

Answer:

m=\frac{7}{8}

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Pre-Algebra</u>

  • Order of Operations: BPEMDAS

<u>Algebra I</u>

  • Slope Formula: m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

Point (-3, -10)

Point (-11, -17)

<u>Step 2: Find slope </u><em><u>m</u></em>

  1. Substitute:                    m=\frac{-17+10}{-11+3}
  2. Add:                              m=\frac{-7}{-8}
  3. Simplify:                        m=\frac{7}{8}

And we have our final answer!
