A store advertises that customers can take 25% off the original price and then take an extra 10% off. Is this the same as a 35%

It is not the same since you will note be taking the 10% off the original price which is greater than the discounted price.
Example: An item is priced at $10.00 and if you take 35% off it would then cost 10.00-3.50 = $6.50.
But if you first take 25% off the 10 it would be 10.00-2.50 =7.50 and now 10%off it is 7.50-0.75= $6.75 which is greater than the $6.50 from the initial 35% off.
Therefore the advertisement of 25% then a 10% is acutally less than a 35% off the original price.

Write an equation for the translation of y = |x|. 13 units down
olga55 [171]
The idea for transitions for an equation like this is
y = m|x - h| + k
where m = slope
h = how much left or right (note the negative)
k = how much up or down

moving 13 down would mean
k = -13

so
y = |x| - 13
D. would be your answer

Can someone answer this please
Alexxandr [17]

Answer:

Range: (-∞, 0]

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Algebra I</u>

  • Range is the set of y-values that are outputted by function f(x)

Step-by-step explanation:

When we graph the equation, we should see that our y-values span from -∞ to 0. Since 0 is a closed dot, it is inclusive in the range:

(-∞, 0] or y ≤ 0

HELPPPPP Find the missing parts of the triangle. Round to the nearest tenth when necessary or to the nearest minute as appropria
Romashka-Z-Leto [24]

The missing parts of the triangle ABC are A = 31.4°, B = 57.4°, C = 91.2°

<h3>What is an equation?</h3>

An equation is an expression that shows the relationship between two or more numbers and variables.

Given that a = 8.6 in, b = 13.9 in. and c = 16.5 in. Using cosine rule:

c² = a² + b² - 2abcosC

16.5² = 8.6² + 13.9² - 2(8.6)(13.9) * cosC

C = 91.2°

Also:

a² = b² + c² - 2bccosA

8.6² = 16.5² + 13.9² - 2(16.5)(13.9) * cosA

A = 31.4°

A + B + C = 180° (angles in a triangle)

31.4 + B + 91.2 = 180

B = 57.4°

The missing parts of the triangle ABC are A = 31.4°, B = 57.4°, C = 91.2°

The first one (top left) is a function. Use the vertical line test, if a vertical line crosses the line drawn on the graph twice, then it's not a function.
