Matt and Taylor are taking a test. The test is designed to produce an overall mean score of 80, with a standard deviation of 6 f

or all test takers. Suppose Matt scored an 85 on the test and Taylor scored a 78 on the test. Given that the data is approximately normal, find the probability that another test taker, chosen at random, scored less than Matt and more than Taylor.

Answer:

P (r) = 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Matt 85 - 80 = +(5)

Taylor 80-78 = - (2)

+5-2 = 3 rise so deviation is the same.

Another test taker in 4 outcomes less than taylor more than taylor less than matt more than matt, would also be the same as AnB union.

So their are 3 outcomes = 1/3 = 0.333 rep.

Solve the system of equations by substitution and show work.
y=−6x+13
y=3x+4
sukhopar [10]

Answer: x= 1 , y = 7

Step-by-step explanation:

y = -6x + 13 ................. equation 1

y = 3x + 4 ................ equation 2

substitute y = 3x + 4 into equation 1 , then we have

3x + 4 = - 6x + 13

collect the like terms , we have

3x + 6x = 13 - 4

9x = 9

x = 1

substitute x = 1 into equation 2 , we have

y = 3(1) + 4

y = 3 + 4

y = 7

Therefore : x = 1 and y = 7

Is the point (4,2) the solution to the system? Why or why not? Explain your reasoning.
VMariaS [17]
Solve the top equation to get on variable on one side
2x-y=6
-y=-2x+6
y=2x-6
then plug in the coordinate for x and y for both equations. if both equations are true then it’s a solution
2=2(2)+6
2=10

4+2=6

so it’s not a solution

Find the domain and range of the graph
ozzi

9514 1404 393

Answer:

 • domain: [-6, -1)
 • range: [-5, 4]

Step-by-step explanation:

You have correctly determined the domain to be from x = -6 to x < -1. In interval notation, that would be ...

 [-6, -1)

__

The range is the vertical extent of the graph. It extends from a minimum of y = -5 to a maximum of y = +4 at the top of the curve. In interval notation, that would be ...

 [-5, 4]
