The answer to the above question is Yes. They are mutually exclusive events.

The mutually exclusive events are events which cannot occur at the same time. Suppose, you toss a coin, there cannot be head and tails both as outcomes at the same time. So, occurring of heads and tails on a coin when tossed, is an example of mutually exclusive event.

Similarly, when you roll a cube, you can never have two numbers together on the cube as outcome. <u>So, rolling a 4 and rolling a 3 on a standard number cube is a mutually exclusive events.</u>

Yes, they are. Each time you roll a cube, you can only get one number, you cannot get both at once.

What is the amplitude of y=1/2 sin2x
Colt1911 [192]
(-\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2})
Amplitutde:
(\frac{1}{2}-(-\frac{1}{2}))=1
Normally for sinx amplitude is 2 (1 +1). In the case when it is half sine amplitude is halved, therefore 0.5 +0.5 = 1 Paramers alpha = 2x does not matter because it only stretches the graph horizontally.

The vertex of this parabola is at (3,5). When the Y value is 6X value is negative one what is the coefficient of the squared ter
iren2701 [21]

We know that equation of a parabola is given by :-

y = a(x-h)² + k

Where (h,k) is the vertex of parabola and (x,y) is any point on its curve.

Given that vertex of parabola is (3,5) and one point (x,y) is (6,-1).

We can plug the given information in the equation of parabola and solve it for value of 'a' :-

-1 = a(6 - 3)² + 5

-1 = a(3)² + 5

-1 = 9a + 5

9a = -1 -5 = -6

a = \frac{-6}{9} = \frac{-2}{3}

a = \frac{-2}{3} is the final answer.
