For A- make a proportion
150. 675
—— = ——
8. x

Next cross multiply
150x=5400
Then solve for x
150x/150 5400/150
x=36
It will take 36 minutes to fill 675 bottles

For B- Same steps as A except replace the x in the proportion with 12 and place x in the place of 675
150. x
—— = ——
8. 12
Cross multiply
8x=1800
8x/8. 1800/8
x=225
The machine makes 225 bottles in 12 hours

For C- Since you know that the the factory makes 225 bottles and that is 25 percent of what the factory produces, you can make a proportion

225. 25%
—— = ——
x. 100%

Cross multiply
25x=22,500
25x/25=22,500/25
x=900
The factory produces 900 bottles

Write an equation of the line that passes through (-1,4) and is perpendicular to the line shown.
tatuchka [14]

Answer:

<h3>  y= -3/4x - 4</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

To write an equation that is perpendicular to a given line, take the negative reciprocal of the given slope. the given slope is 4/3, so the negative reciprocal is -3/4.

Using slope-intercept form of a linear equation, y=mx+b substitute in -3/4 for "m" the slope.

y=-3/4x+b

Now you need to "b" the y-intercept using the given point (-4,-1). Substitute the values in the equation. -1=-3/4(-4)+b simplify

                           -1= 3 + b    subtract 3 for both sides

                           -4=b

         substitue -4 for b.   Now you have    y= -3/4x - 4    this is your answer.

Find the Value of k that will make the function f(x) continuous everywhere.
cricket20 [7]

well, if that function f(x) were to be continuos on all subfunctions, that means that whatever value 7x + k has when x = 2, meets or matches the value that kx² - 6 has when x = 2 as well, so then 7x + k = kx² - 6 when f(2)

f(x)= \begin{cases} 7x+k,&x\leqslant 2\\ kx^2-6&x > 2 \end{cases}\qquad \qquad f(2)= \begin{cases} 7(2)+k,&x\leqslant 2\\ k(2)^2-6&x > 2 \end{cases} \\\\[-0.35em] ~\dotfill\\\\ 7(2)+k~~ = ~~k(2)^2-6\implies 14+k~~ = ~~4k-6 \\\\\\ 14~~ = ~~3k-6\implies 20~~ = ~~3k\implies \cfrac{20}{3}=k
