A 26 year-old female is resting after a 1-minute episode during which she lost consciousness while her muscles contracted and ex
tremities extended. This was followed by rhythmic contraction and relaxation of her extremities. On regaining consciousness, she found herself to have been incontinent of urine. What has the woman most likely experienced?
It begins with tonic phase in which chest muscles contract and muscles become stiff, it is also called tonic contraction. Extension of extremities occur and the person may fall down with loss of consciousness. Urinary and fecal and bladder incontinence could also be observed commonly. It is followed by contraction of respiratory muscles. After tonic phase, clonic phase occurs in which rhythmic twitching of extremities occur. And irregular breathing are consequences of this phase.
