X=4 because if f(2)=3x-1 that means that x=2 will replace x in the equation so 3(2)=6 6-1=5.Then both need to equal to 5 so you need to do the he reverse of equations 5+3=8 and 2x=8 and 8÷4=2. I know I didnt explained quite perfectly but I know x=4.

f(x) = 3x - 1

g(x) = 2x - 3

g(x) = f(2)

g(x) = 3.2 - 1

g(x) = 6 - 1

g(x) = 5

If g(x) = 5, then, 2x - 3 = 5

2x - 3 = 5

2x = 5 + 3

2x = 8

x = 8/2

x = 4

So,

f(2) = g(4)

A compound contains 40% calcium, 12% carbon, and 48% oxygen by mass. What is the empirical formula of this compound?
astraxan [27]

Answer:

3

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation:

Although you have not been provided with direct masses, you can use the percentage composition values in place of masses.

First, calculate the number of moles of each element:

This is the formula for the ionic compound calcium carbonate, confirming that our result is indeed in the magnitude of a plausible answer. In fact, given the fact that calcium carbonate is ionic, it is also true that this empirical formula equates to the unit formula of the compound.

39 is 5% of what number
hjlf
To find this out:
Turn the percent into a fraction and cross multiply!

5%=5/100

5 39
_ × ____
100

Multiply 39 × 100 (3,900)
Then divide by 5!
3900/5=780

39 is 5% of 780!

We measure the diameters for a random sample of 25 oak trees in a neighbourhood. Diameters of oak trees in the neighbourhood fol
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

The required confidence inteval = 94.9%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Confidence interval: Mean ± Margin of error

Given: A confidence interval for the true mean diameter of all oak trees in the neighbourhood is calculated to be (36.191, 42.969).

i.e.  Mean + Margin of error = 42.969               (i)

Mean - Margin of error = 36.191                    (ii)

Adding (i) and (ii), we get

2Mean =79.16\\\\\Rightarrow\ Mean= 39.58

Margin of error = 42.969-39.58             [from (i)]

= 3.389

Margin of error = t^* \dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}

here n= 25 , \ \sigma=8.25

i.e.

3.389=t^*\dfrac{8.25}{5}\\\\\Rightarrow\ t^* = \dfrac{3.389}{1.65}\\\\\Rightarrow\ t^* =2.0539 \

Using  excel function 1-TDIST.2T(2.054,24)

The required confidence inteval = 94.9%.
