Get the b all alone on one side of the inequality. To do this, we can divide both sides by 5.

5b / 5 ≤ -15 / 5
b ≤ -3

So, that means b has to be less than or equal to -3.

In interval notation it would look like [-3, -∞)

In a set builder notation: {x | x ∈ R, x ≤ -3}

Which is read as the set of all x, such that, x is a member of the real numbers and x is less than or equal to -3.

Divided 5 for both side
5b/5≤-15/5
b≤-3. As a result, b≤-3. Hope it help!

A. Create a set of 5 points that are very close together and record the standard deviation. Next, add a sixth point that is far
defon

Answer: The addition of the new point alters the previous standard deviation greatly

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the initial five points be : 2 3 4 5 and 6. In order to calculate the standard deviation for this data, we will need to calculate the mean first.

Mean = summation of scores/number of scores.

The mean is therefore: (2+3+4+5+6)/5 = 20/5 = 4.

We'll also need the sum of the squares of the deviations of the mean from all the scores.

Since mean = 4, deviation of the mean from the score "2" = score(2) - mean (4)

For score 3, it is -1

For 4, it's 0

For 5 it's 1

For 6 it's 2.

The squares for -2, -1, 0, 1, and 2 respectively will be 4, 1 , 0, 1, 4. Summing them up we have 10 i.e (4+1+0+1+4=10).

Calculating the standard deviation, we apply the formula:

√(summation of (x - deviation of mean)^2)/N

Where N means the number of scores.

The standard deviation = √(10/5) = 1.4142

If we add another score or point that is far away from the original points, say 40, what happens to the standard deviation. Let's calculate to find out.

i.e we now have scores: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 40

We calculate by undergoing same steps.

Firstly mean. The new mean = (2+3+4+5+6+40)/6 = 60/6 = 10.

The mean deviations for the scores : 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 40 are -8, -7, -6, -5, -4 and 30 respectively. The squares of these deviations are also 64, 49, 36, 25, 16 and 900 respectively as well. Their sum will then be 1090. i.e. (64+49+36+25+16+900 = 1090).

The new standard deviation is then=

√(1090/6)

= √181.67

= 13.478.

It's clear that the addition of a point that's far away from the original points greatly alters the size of the standard deviation as seen /witnessed in this particular instance where the standard deviation rises from 1.412 to 13.478

A rectangular plot of ground is 30 meters longer than it is wide. its area is 10,000 square meters.
dimulka [17.4K]
A = W· L
10,000 = W ( W +30 ) = W² + 30 W
W² + 30 W - 10,000 = 0
W = \frac{-30+ \sqrt{900+40000} }{2}=  \frac{-30+202.24}{2} = 86.12
L = 86.12 + 30 = 116.12
Width of a plot is 86.12 m and lenght is 116.12 m.
Check : A = 116.12 · 86.12 ≈ 10,000

Questions (no partial grades if you don't show your work) 1. In a group of 6 boys and 4 girls, four children are to be selected.
mariarad [96]

Answer:

Total number of ways will be 209

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 6 boys and 4 girls in a group and 4 children are to be selected.

We have to find the number of ways that 4 children can be selected if at least one boy must be in the group of 4.

So the groups can be arranged as

(1 Boy + 3 girls), (2 Boy + 2 girls), (3 Boys + 1 girl), (4 boys)

Now we will find the combinations in which these arrangements can be done.

1 Boy and 3 girls = ^{6}C_{1}\times^{4}C_{3}=6\times4=24

2 Boy and 2 girls=^{6}C_{2}\times^{4}C_{2}=\frac{6!}{4!\times2!}\times\frac{4!}{2!\times2!}=15\times6=90

3 Boys and 1 girl = ^{6}C_{3}\times^{4}C_{1}=\frac{6!}{4!\times2!}\times\frac{4!}{3!}=\frac{6\times5\times4}{3 \times2} \times4=80

4 Boys = ^{6}C_{4}=\frac{6!}{4!\times2!} =\frac{6\times 5}{2\times1}=15

Now total number of ways = 24 + 90 + 80 + 15 = 209

Please help !!
Maurinko [17]
Answer: The number of ceral boxes per day.

Because the slope will be [rise of the grah of the model function] / [run of the graph of the model function].

rise = [increase in the number of cereal boxes sold]

run = [days elapsed ]

rise / run = number of cereal boxes sold per day
