4 = -0.8n

To find n divide both sides by -0.8:

n = 4 / -0.8

n = -5

4 0

n = - 5

consider the rational form of - 0.8 = - \frac{8}{10} = - \frac{4}{5}

Then 4 = - \frac{4n}{5}

multiply both sides by 5

20 = - 4n

divide both sides by - 4

n = - \frac{20}{4} = - 5

A student studying his classmates' cars' ages reports the 5-number summary as {1, 3, 4, 8, 20}. what is the iqr for his data?
timurjin [86]

IQR for the data {1, 3, 4, 8, 20} is 5.

Interquartile Range(IQR) for a data is defined as the difference between third quartile and first quartile.

denoted by  IQR=Q₃-Q₁              (Q₃ is third quartile and Q₁ is first quartile)

The five number summary of a data set is represented as

{minimum, first quartile , second quartile , third quartile , maximum}..…(1)

According to the question

{1, 3, 4, 8, 20}

On comparing it with equation   …(1)

minimum=1

Q₁ =3    , Q₂=4 , Q₃=8 , maximum =20

IQR=Q₃-Q₁

Substituting the values we get

IQR=8-3=5.

Therefore , Interquartile Range for the data {1, 3, 4, 8, 20} is 5.

How do you solve g= y-c+x for x
SOVA2 [1]
To solve for x just isolate x by moving the other variables so....:
First add c to both sides
g+c= y+x
Subtract y from both sides
g+c-y= x
That should be your final answer (we cannot come up with an actual digit for x because there are no numbers in this equation we simply can make an equation for x)

Events X and Y are independent. The probability of X occurring is 1/3 . The probability of Y occurring is 1/2 . What is P(X and
Step2247 [10]
For independent events X,Y, \mathbb P(X\cap Y)=\mathbb P(X)\times\mathbb P(Y).

So

\mathbb P(X\cap Y)=\dfrac13\times\dfrac12=\dfrac16
