Answer:

European languages were introduced.

Catholicism is the most widely-practiced religion.

Explanation:

During the colonization of South America, the Europeans impacted the culture of South America in the following ways:

1. The Europeans forced or ensure that the South Americans to learn the language of the country that colonized them. An obvious example is Portuguese in Brazil, Spanish in Peru, etc. That is, the south americans were prohibited to speak their Latin American language, rather to speak the European language instead. Hence, spanish language becomes more popular in Central and South American countries because Spain colonized most of this region.

2. The Portuguese and Spanish colonization of South America in the 16th Century led to native inhabitants to change over to Roman Catholicism. Such that the colonial masters prohibited the practice of their native religions, and introduced Christianity/Catholicism as the main religion in South America. Hence, Catholicism being the major religion practiced in the continent.

The police department of a small city has jurisdiction within the city limits and over a defined portion of the surrounding rura
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

Yes he may prevail

Explanation:

He wants to exercise his civic duty and he has every right to file a suit because he has been taxes indirectly to the city.

Firstly, The farmer does not pay any tax directly to the city because a portion of his farm property is turned over by the county to the city to support the city police department, which indirectly, he is paying tax because this support to the city is categorized indirectly as his tax.

Secondly, His farm property has been vandalized several times over the months and the police didn't do anything about it to improve his situation which calls for attention to why nothing has been done about it despite his support to the city police department.

With the two above paragraphs, he has a point and his also lives in one of the rural communities and the city ordinance provides that only residents of the city may vote, but the city ordinance is always the city ordinance, the law might and might not favor him, he could get payment for the damages on his properties, but it would be quite difficult for him to prevail over the suit because he doesn't live in the city

How did the events of the 1980s and 90s help to achieve, maintain, and/or threaten world peace
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

The events of the 1980s and 1990s helped to maintain world peace were the Persian Gulf war, the Iran-Iraq war, Lebanon war, the bombing of Libya, and the last stage of the cold war.

Explanation:

These events were the major events that allowed world peace to be kept in between the 1980s and the 1990s, however, they did it because they threatened it. It is very complicated, but the reasons are that these weren't high scalation conflicts, they were local conflicts and didn't clash the major party's that could trigger a world conflict directly. They only participated indirectly, by providing support to the participating party's.
