How many atoms and ions does nickel oxide have?
Alex73 [517]

Answer: 1 atom

Explanation:

The loss of the remaining valence electron results in an ion with a +2 charge. The proper way of noting the charges on these ions is to use the systematic name for each ion, nickel (I) for the +1 ion and nickel (II) for the +2 ion.

How does anaerobic respiration occur in yeast ?
slavikrds [6]
When there isn't enough oxygen for Oxidative Phosphorylation to occur, anaerobic respiration occurs. You can't produce ATP across the inner of the mitochondrial membrane or in the Krebs cycle if you don't have Oxidative Phosphorylation. As a result, the yeast employs anaerobic respiration to keep Glycolysis running, resulting in 4 ATP molecules (Net: 2) each Glucose molecule that is converted to Pyruvate.

Allowing NADH to lose hydrogen allows it to be converted to NAD, which can then be utilized to oxidize glucose to pyruvate, which produces ATP, and so on. This is best illustrated in a diagram, in my opinion.

3. Why have we not been able to create a fusion reactor on Earth?
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

We are not able to create a fusion reactor on Earth because fusion energy production is not based on a chain reaction, as is fission. Plasma must be kept at very high temperatures with the support of external heating systems and confined by an external magnetic field.

How many silver (Ag) atoms are in 3.0 moles of silver?
o-na [289]

Answer:

1.8 x 10²⁴ atoms Ag

Explanation:

You can find the amount of silver (Ag) atoms by multiplying the moles by Avogadro's number. It is important to arrange the conversion in a way that allows for the cancellation of units (the desired unit should be in the numerator). The final answer should have 2 sig figs to match the sig figs of the given value.

Avogadro's Number:

6.022 x 10²³ atoms = 1 mole

3.0 moles Ag           6.022 x 10²³ atoms
----------------------  x  --------------------------------  = 1.8 x 10²⁴ atoms Ag
                                           1 mole
