Answer:

Probability that a randomly chosen college student does not take statistics is 0.16 .

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that probability that a randomly chosen college student takes statistics is 0.84 .

Let the above probability that a randomly chosen college student takes statistics = P(A) = 0.84

Now, probability that a randomly chosen college student does not take statistics is given by = 1 - Probability that a randomly chosen college student takes statistics = 1 - P(A)

So, required probability = 1 - 0.84 = 0.16 .

What is the depemdent varianle in c=3.25s
Tpy6a [65]

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

C is the dependent variable because it depends on the other side of the equation. S can be anything, it doesn't matter what the others are. However, whatever c is depends on what s is, and changes depending on what you have for s.

Can somebody please explain how to do this?
erastova [34]
As we already have the value of y,we can put it into another equation.

Here's how we can solve the equation:

y = 2x+48...(1)
y = 8x...(2)

Put (2) into (1)

(8x) = 2x+48
8x-2x = 48
6x = 48
x = 8...(3)

Put (3) into (1)
y = 8(8)
y = 64

Thus, x=8, y+64

Hope it helps!

Question 20 PLEASE HELP Tell whether the equation: -x+4y=-5 represents a direct variation
Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

no, it does not

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello

-x+4y=-5

so

4y = x-5\\ y=\dfrac{1}{4}x-\dfrac{5}{4}

we say that y varies directly with x if y=kx

in this example we have an additional constant, the graph is not a line through the origin so this is not a direct variation

hope this helps

On the game show « the price is right », the highest winning amount was $262,743. The next largest winning amount was only 81.4
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

The second highest winning amount was of $213,876

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the main prize of "The price is right" won is $ 262,743, and that the second highest prize in the history of said program is 81.4012% of said value, to obtain said number the following calculation must be performed:

(262,743 / 100) x 81.4012 = X

2,627.43 x 81.4012 = X

213,875.95 = X

Therefore, rounded to the nearest dollar, the second highest prize in the program was $213,876.
