14x-8=6x
8x=8
x=1

8.5-3z=-8
16.5=3z
z=5.5

9m+14=2m
7m=-14
m=-2. Hope it help!

1. subtract the 6x from both sides, and add 8 on both sides. solve for x by dividing.

2. Add 3z onto both sides so that it will cancel out on the left side and be positive on the right side. Also, add 8 on both sides so 3z is the only thing on the right side of the equation. solve for z.

3. Subtract 2m from both sides. Subtract 14 from both sides. SOLVE FOR M :)

a political candidate has asked you to conduct a poll to determine what percentage of people support her. if the candidate only
musickatia [10]

Answer:

The  sample needed is  n =150

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The margin of error is  E = 0.08

   The confidence level is  C  =  95 \% =  0.95

Given that the confidence level is  95% the level of significance is mathematically represented as

          \alpha  =  1 -  0.95

           \alpha  = 0.05

Next we obtain the critical value of  \frac{\alpha }{2} from the z-table , the value is Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} } =  1.96

The reason we are obtaining critical value of    \frac{\alpha }{2} instead of    \alpha is because

\alpha represents the area under the normal curve where the confidence level interval (   1-\alpha ) did not cover which include both the left and right tail while

\frac{\alpha }{2} is just the area of one tail which what we required to calculate the margin of error

The sample size is mathematically represented as

            n  =  [\frac{Z_{\frac{\alpha }{2} }}{E} ]^2 * \r p[1-\r p]

Here \r p is sample proportion of people that supported her and we will assume this to be 50% =  0.5

So

            n  = [\frac{1.96}{ 0.08} ]^2 *  [0.5 (1- 0.5)]

           n  =150

Find the derivative using the limit process of f (x) = - 10x
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

\frac{d}{dx} f(x) =-10

General Formulas and Concepts:

<u>Calculus</u>

  • Derivative Notation
  • Definition of a Derivative: \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1: Define</u>

f(x) = -10x

<u>Step 2: Find Derivative</u>

  1. Substitute:                         \frac{d}{dx} f(x)= \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{-10(x + h)-(-10x)}{h}
  2. Distribute -10:                    \frac{d}{dx} f(x)= \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{-10x -10h-(-10x)}{h}
  3. Distribute -1:                      \frac{d}{dx} f(x)= \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{-10x -10h+10x}{h}
  4. Combine like terms:         \frac{d}{dx} f(x)=  \lim_{h \to 0} \frac{-10h}{h}
  5. Divide:                               \frac{d}{dx} f(x)=  \lim_{h \to 0} -10
  6. Evaluate:                           \frac{d}{dx} f(x)=-10
