Answer: \dfrac{8}{15}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Total students in group= 30

Number of students study French =  9

Number of students study Spanish = 14

Number of students study both French and Spanush =7

Number of students study either French or Spanish = 9+14-7=16

Now, the probability of studying French or Spanish is given by :-

\text{P(French or Spanish)}=\dfrac{16}{30}=\dfrac{8}{15}

Hence, the probability of studying French or Spanish is \dfrac{8}{15}

Or means not both
if  people study both then the number of people studying either french or spanish is 7 less than the total number of peple studig french and spanish because thoe 7 are common to both groups

9+14=total=23
23-7=16 people studing either

proabblity=desiredoutcmes/totalpossibe
desired=16
total=30
so 16/30=8/15 is the probablity

Miranda has 3 kites. Each kite needs 4 2/3 yards of string. How much string does Miranda need for all 3 kites?
Alekssandra [29.7K]

Answer:

14 yards of string.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since each kite needs 4 2/3 yards of string and there are 3 kites, we have to multiply 4 2/3 by 3.

So, 4 2/3 × 3 = 14.

Someone please help me im so confused
Alja [10]

Answer:

x=6

y=9

z=10

Step-by-step explanation: The long 20 on the left has 4, 6 and _10_ to make 20. The blank which is 10 is the same length as z. The proportion of 10/15 translates throughout the whole shape. That means it is 6/9 and 4/6.

The simplified proportion is 2/3 by the way.
