3. Dorji was provided with four colourless solutions. He was asked to
givi [52]

Answer:

First, we can test Solution 1. We know that Sodium Hydroxide is a strong base. If we test acids on blue litmus paper, they will turn red. If we test bases on red litmus paper, they will turn blue.  So, you can test all the of the solutions- water, sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid with blue and red litmus paper. HCl, Hydrochloric acid is an acid, so it will turn blue litmus paper red. It will not turn red litmus blue. The acids will turn blue litmus paper red. The bases will turn red litmus paper blue. Only water is a neutral liquid, which will not turn blue litmus paper red or red litmus paper blue. It will not change the colour of it. Thus, if you test all the solutions with blue and red litmus paper, you will know which solution is water.  Water is the only one which is neutral. It is the only solution which cannot change the colour of any litmus paper. Thus, you can identify it very easily.

It is composed of an alloy that is 90% Platinum and 10% Iridium; having a density of 21.186 g/cm3. What is the volume of the Sta
oksian1 [2.3K]
The alloy has a density of 21.186g/cc. So for a kilogram or 1000 grams/21.186 g/cc= 45.7 cc. So the answer is 45.7 cc of the allow to make up a kilogram which shows that the density of the allow can be used to calculate the volume of a larger mass ie the kilogram.

g (2pts) A 10x transfer buffer solution is 250mM Tris and 1.92M glycine. Buffers are always used at 1x concentration in the lab
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

The explanation according to the given question is summarized below.

Explanation:

Given:

Tris,

= 250 mM

Glycine,

= 1.92 M

According to the solution,

For the dilution pf 10X to 1X buffer, we get

= 1 \ ml \ of \ 10X \ buffer +9 \ ml \ of \ distilled \ water

= 10

i.e.,

⇒ 10X \ to \ 1X=1:10 \ dilution

Now,

⇒ 10X (250 \ mM\ Tris \ HCl, 1.92M\ Glycine, and\ 1 \ percent (\frac{w}{v} ) SDS) ---->1X(25 \ mM \ Tris \ HCl,0.193 M\ Glycine, and \ 0.1 \ percent(\frac{w}{v} )SDS)

Calculate the number of moles of nitrogen monoxide gas used to form 72.0 grams of water vapor.
Anettt [7]

4 moles of nitrogen monoxide gas used to form 72.0 grams of water vapor.

<h3>What is a mole ?</h3>

A mole is the measurement unit which is used to correlate the molar mass with number of molecules present.

The equation for reaction of Nitrogen monoxide to form water vapor is given by

4NH₃ + 6NO ----> 5N₂ + 6H₂O

72 grams of water vapor means = 72/18 = 4 mole of water vapour

The mole fraction of NO to H₂O is 6 : 6

Therefore for 4 moles of water vapor formation , 4 moles of nitrogen monoxide will be required.
