First of all the wounds must be exposed, bleeding must be controlled and the surface should be cleaned by removing the pieces of unwanted foreign material.

This will make the wound free from germs as laceration is a wound that is produced by tearing of soft tissues. This wound has maximum chances of infection so it must be cleaned first.

Then after cleaning, the wound should be covered with bandage for healing.
