Answer:

48 hats and 104 shirts

Step-by-step explanation:

These are the equations you build from the problem:

h + s = 152

8.50h + 12s = 1656

This is how I solved them:

s= 152-h

8.5h + 12(152-h) = 1656

8.5h + 1824 - 12h = 1656

Solve for h

h= 48

Put this into first equation (h +s = 152) to get s

The solution of the equation is  x=\frac{11}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

To simplify an equation of x

  • Simplify each side of the equation
  • Collect x in side and the numerical terms in the other side
  • Find the value of x

∵ The equation is 2x + \frac{1-x}{4}=3

- Multiply all terms of the equation by 4 to cancel the denominator

 of the 2nd term in the left hand side

∵ The equation is 4(2x) +4 (\frac{1-x}{4})=4(3)

∴ 8x + (1 - x) = 12

∴ 8x + 1 - x = 12

- Add like terms

∴ (8x - x) + 1 = 12

∴ 7x + 1 = 12

- Subtract 1 from both sides

∴ 7x = 11

- Divide both sides by 7

∴ x=\frac{11}{7}

The solution of the equation is  x=\frac{11}{7}

On a cube, what proportion of the surface area is on each face, to the nearest percent?
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

Cubes have 6 equal faces, and the surface area is the sum of all of these faces. Thus, one face would be 1/6 of the cube's surface area, or about 17%.
