Part A: divide the # of flyers by the # of friends : 1428 flyers ÷ 14 friends = 102 flyers per friend

102 flyers per friend x $0.25 per flyer for each friend = $25.50 per friend for helping to hand out flyers

Part B: 1428 flyers printed at $0.10 per flyer printed = $142.80 total for printing the flyers

$25.50 per friend x 14 friends = $357.00 total paid to the friends

$142.80 for the flyers + $357.00 for the friends = $499.80 total spent

1) Well you divide the copies by 14 for the amount of friends that Ivan has helping him then multiply that to the 0.25 cents that he is playing them.

2) You multiply 1428 of the copies of flyers to the 0.10 then add that answer to the answer of number 1

Would you rather have 1/3 of a cake or 0.3? Use mathematical reasoning to justify your choice?
Vinil7 [7]

1/3 because if you cut a cake into 3 parts you will have a lot more but 0.3 of a cake is not a lot.
