you will need to use the law of cosines since this picture does not indicate that this is a right triangle

c^2 = a^2 + b^2 – 2ab cos C,

16^2 = 17^2+8^2 -2*17*8*cosC

256=289-272cosC

-33=-272cosC

33/272 = cosC

cos^-1 (33/272)=C  taking the inverse cos

C=83.0  (to the nearest tenth)

b^2 = a^2 + c^2 – 2ac cos B,

8^2 = 17^2 +16^2 -2*17*16cosB

64=289-544cosB

-225=-544cosB

225/544=cosB

cos^(-1) =B

B=65.5

A=180-83-65.6

A=31.4

Frida started to solve the equation 3x = 36 by adding 3 to both sides. Explain why Friday’s method will not solve the equation.
vlada-n [284]

Explanation:

The equation is 3x=36

Frida started to solve the equation by adding 3 to both sides.

Thus, the equation becomes,

3x+3=39

This will not solve the equation.

To solve the equation 3x=36, we need to divide both sides of the equation by 3.

Thus, the equation becomes,

\frac{3x}{3} =\frac{36}{3}

Dividing we get,

x=12

Hence, Frida cannot solve the equation by adding 3 to both sides of the equation. To solve the equation, Frida needs to divide both sides of the equation by 3.

Thus, to solve the equation 3x=36 Frida needs to divide both sides of the equation by 3.

Examine the functions below. Which statement is true?
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

Equation 2 is non-linear, Equation 1 is linear.

Step-by-step explanation:

A linear equation is an equation with a constant gradient and can be expressed in the form y = mx + c. Hence Equation 1 Satisfies this as it is in that form and has a constant gradient of 4. Equation 2 is not in the form y =  mx + c since there is a square and hence its non-linear.
