Freshly cut elodea floating in water produce the most observable bubbles. As photosynthesis occurs, elodea plants pass the produced oxygen from leaves to stem. Some oxygen escapes from the leaves to form oxygen bubbles in the water but the majority escapes from the stem as a result of larger intracellular air spaces. Hope I’ve helped ;)

Which of the following characteristics, structures, or processes is common to both bacteria and viruses? A. Metabolism B. Riboso
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

C. Genetic material composed of nucleic acid

Explanation:

The information needed by every organism to perform life functions like reproduction, growth etc are held in the genetic material that the organism carries in its genome. Every genetic material of organisms is composed of nucleic acids, which are only two in nature i.e. Ribonucleic acid (RNA) and Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). This is a common feature of all organisms including bacteria and viruses that they contain genetic material which must be in form of a nucleic acid.

The viruses do not undergo a cell division, neither do they contain protein synthesis structures called Ribosomes because they do not have the ability to reproduce or perform any living process outside a living host cell. This means that they strictly depend on another organism's transcriptional, translational, replicational ability to survive.

Describe the weather conditions that characterize the chaparral biome.
ki77a [65]
This is a very hot and dry area. The winter can be mild and usually about 50° F (10°C). It is so hot and dry at 40 °C that fires and droughts are very common. The chaparral biome has many different types of terrain. Some examples are flat plains, rocky hills and mountain slopes. It is sometimes used in movies for the "Wild West". <span>The animals are all mainly grassland and desert types adapted to hot, dry weather. A few examples: coyotes, jackrabbits, mule deer, alligator lizards, horned toads, praying mantis, honey bee and ladybugs.

I hope this helps.

What forms the bond between neiboring amino acids
Elina [12.6K]
Proteins are formed by linking amino acids with peptide bonds, and the amino acid bond is also formed through a condensation reaction, where the carbonyl and the amine group link together with the release of water.
