Freshly cut elodea floating in water produce the most observable bubbles. As photosynthesis occurs, elodea plants pass the produced oxygen from leaves to stem. Some oxygen escapes from the leaves to form oxygen bubbles in the water but the majority escapes from the stem as a result of larger intracellular air spaces. Hope I’ve helped ;)

Allen pours water into a graduated cylinder. He notices that the surface of the water is curved, as shown below.
Slav-nsk [51]

Answer:

When water is added to a graduated cylinder, having a surface where the sides of the water look higher than the center means that the curved surface is a concave meniscus which has formed because of surface tension (Choice C).

Explanation:

A meniscus is simply the curvature that the surface of a liquid acquires when it is in a container, such as a graduated cylinder. It is concave when there is attraction between molecules -water and glass- or it can be convex when both surfaces are repelled.

Water is a polar molecule, with the capacity to adhere to the surfaces it comes into contact with. This characteristic causes it to form a concave meniscus, as the outermost molecules adhere to the glass surface, while the surface tension of the water attracts the molecules from the centre downwards, causing the concavity.

because A detritivore (also known as decomposers) is an animal that feeds on dead organisms(living things) and breaks them down into smaller molecules. Detritivores are essential in the ecosystem as they return important materials such as carbon (see carbon cycle) back into the environment. Examples of common detritivores include earthworms and woodlice, but also includes microscopic (things that can only be seen using a microscope) bacteria.

What type of fat is necessary for normal bodily function and includes lipids incorporated into nerves and organs?
andrew11 [14]

Answer:

Sphingolipids

Explanation:

They are derived from aliphatic amino alcohol sphingosine and functions in protecting the nerves in the central nervous system. Sphingolipids includes group of lipids called glycolipids and sphingomyelin. Just like phospholipids they have polar heads and two non-polar tails together with proteins, forms a myelin sheath. They insulate the nerves and causes quick transmission of electrical impulse amongst organs contributing to normal bodily functions.

lesantik [10]

Answer:

The correct statement is C. The pollutants will disrupt oxygen absorption in fish.

Explanation:

Motor oil and other fuels when dispose off in the water bodies, it causes suffocation in the marine animals and causes death. Motor oil or other fuel such as petrol, diesel etc are non polar solvent and water is a polar solvent so they are not dissolve with each other and the oil make a layer on the water surface and blocks oxygen.
