10 (> or = to)  2.00 + 0.75x

Sorry. I don't have that symbol on my keyboard. but her ten dollars has to be greater than or equal to whatever the cost is so that's why that symbol has to be used in this case. 2.00 is the flat rate and add 0.75 multiplied by however many miles she is taking!

Hope this helps!

Three pies were made for a party. Each pie was cut into eight pieces. 3⁄8 of the apple pie was left. 1⁄2 of the cherry pie was l
miskamm [114]

Answer:

There are 13 pieces of pie left.

Step-by-step explanation:

So there are 3 pieces of apple pie left, there are 4 pieces of cherry pie left, and there are 6 pieces of pumpkin pie left. 3 + 4 + 6 = 13.

3/8 = 3 pieces because each fraction in this one equals one piece. So the numerator is how many left.

1/2= 4 because you just divide 8 by 2.

3/4 = 2 because you can multiply the fraction by 2 and get 6/8. Then the numerator is how many that's left.

I hope I helped.

James has $5.00 more than three times what Catherine has. Together they have $41.00. How much does each student have?
Tpy6a [65]
Hey.

acc'g to the conditions :

Let Catherine has x
and James has 5 + 3x

Then,

5 + 4x = 41 \\ \\ \implies 4x +5 -5 = 41-5 \\ \\ \implies 4x = 36 \\ \\ \implies x= \dfrac{36}{4} \\ \\ \implies x = 9

Hence

• Catherine has = x = $9,
• and James has = 5 +3x = 5 + 3(9) = $32

Thanks.

Since 6 is positive, it's (x+blank)^2

6/2=3, and (x+3)^2 = x^2+6x+9. We have x^2+6x-2, so we have to add 9 to both sides to get (x+3)^2-2=9, then subtract 9 from both sides to get
(x+3)^2-11=0, or (x+3)^2=11. Square root both sides to get x+3=sqrt(11), and x=sqrt(11)-3, which is approximately 0.32
