Explanation:

After the Tensions with soviet union, Mao Zedong who is considered to be the father of Modern china felt that soviet economic model which proposed great leap forward policies were utter failure and he desired to rectify the Chinese communist party outlooks, he desired the Chinese youth to have  a revolutionary experience and asked the youth to form Red guards and he wanted to achieve some revolutionary changes by bringing many new policies in the field health, politics and economy.

He ordered the army of china in not to interfere with the function of red guards and ordered them to attack all the traditional values and thing that belonged to bourgeois. The youth were involved in chaos and attacks which resulted in more than one generation of Chinese youth left illiterate. Many cultural artifacts were stolen from the museums and the old traditions off china soon vanished. The result of brutal violence which persisted unfortunately resulted in the damage and destruction of the most valued ancient culture of china.
