2= $5.00
3= $7.50
15= x

1 puzzle= $2.50
so, 15 puzzles= $37.50

2x=5.00; 2/2x= 5.00/2; x= 2.50
3x= 7.50; 3/3x= 7.50/3; x= 2.50
15*x= 15x; 15*2.50= 37.50

You can solve this problem several ways if 2 puzzles cost $5.00 then 1 puzzle costs $2.50 the variable would be the number of puzzles, the cost of each puzzle stays the same cost= number of puzzles times the price 2,50 (15)= x $37,50 =x also if 3 puzzles cost 7.50 then 15 is 5 times that cost 5 (7,50)= $ 37.50 also ratio and proportion 1 puzzle/$2.50= 15 puzzles/ x $ cross multiply x= $37,50 hope this helps

Which statement is false?
Zarrin [17]
<span>Let's analyze our choices:
1. Media messages may translate differently across different media. Let's see here, if a person is reading a newspaper, would they react differently than if they noticed a tweet by their friend online about presidential campaign ads? Yes, they probably would, so this statement is true.
2. When analyzing media, it is important to ask, "Does it work ". If a person told you that the sky is actually pink but Mary Poppins is actually a real person and just makes you think that the sky looks blue, and that they learned this because the news told them so, would you automatically believe them? Not really. :P Therefore option 2 is out of the way.
3. It is important to understand that media messages do not have a goal. HAH! People and messages always have a goal. I think we may have found our false statement, but just to be sure, let's take a look at our last statement.
4. People will perceive media messages differently. </span>Have you ever watched a debate and thought that one side did a better job than the other, and then your friend starts an argument with you as they think that's total baloney? This statement is true too.

This leaves the only false statement as 3. <span>It is important to understand that media messages do not have a goal.</span>

If 1/2 is subtracted from four times the reciprocal of a number, the result is 0. Find the number.
Maurinko [17]

Answer:

The Number is 8.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number be x.

Given:

1/2 is subtracted from four times the reciprocal of a number, the result is 0.

Hence the equation will become like;

4\times \frac{1}{x} - \frac{1}{2}=0

Now Solving the equation we get.

\frac{4}{x} -\frac{1}{2}=0\\\\\frac{4}{x} = \frac{1}{2}\\\\x= 4\times 2\\x=8

Now the we can see the number is 8, when 1/2 is subtracted from 4 times the reciprocal of number means 4/8 which becomes 1/2 and hence when 1/2 is subtracted from 1/2 it equals to 0.

Hence the number is 8.

What is the answer for this math problem
aleksley [76]

Answer:

The group of all ordered pairs lie on the line is (3, 7), (2, 6), (-2, 2) ⇒ D

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>To solve this type of question, Form the equation of the line and substitute the x-coordinate of each ordered pair to find y, if the value of y equal to the value of the y-coordinate of the point, then the point is on the line</em>

The form of the linear equation is y = m x + b, where

  • m is the slope of the line
  • b is the y-intercept (value y at x = 0
  • The rule of the slope of the line that passes through points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is m = \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

From the given figure

∵ The line passes through points (-4, 0) and (0, 4)

∴ x1 = -4 and y1 = 0

∴ x2 = 0 and y2 = 4

→ Substitute them in the rule above

∵ m = \frac{4-0}{0--4} = \frac{4}{0+4} = \frac{4}{4}

∴ m = 1

∵ b is the value of y at x = 0

∵ y = 4 at x = 0

∴ b = 4

→ Substitute the values of m and b in the form of the equation above

∴ y = 1(x) + 4

∴ y = x + 4 ⇒ equation of the given line

Let us check every group

∵ The ordered pairs are (7, 3), (6, 2), (2, -2)

∵ y = x + 4

∵ x = 7

∵ y = 7 + 4 = 11

∵ y-coordinate = 3

∴ Point (7, 3) doesn't lie on the line

∵ The ordered pairs are (5, 1), (3, 7), (2, 6)

∵ x = 5

∴ y = 5 + 4 = 9

∵ y-coordinate = 1

∴ Point (5, 1) doesn't lie on the line

∵ The ordered pairs are (3, 7), (2, 6), (2, 2)

∵ x = 3

∴ y = 3 + 4 = 7

∵ y-coordinate = 7

∴ Point (3, 7) lies on the line

∵ x = 2

∴ y = 2 + 4 = 6

∵ y-coordinate = 6

∴ Point (2, 6) lies on the line

∵ x = 2

∴ y = 6

∵ y-coordinate = 2

∴ Point (2, 2) doesn't lie on the line

∵ The ordered pairs are (3, 7), (2, 6), (-2, 2)

∵ x = 3

∴ y = 3 + 4 = 7

∵ y-coordinate = 7

∴ Point (3, 7) lies on the line

∵ x = 2

∴ y = 2 + 4 = 6

∵ y-coordinate = 6

∴ Point (2, 6) lies on the line

∵ x = -2

∴ y = -2 + 4 = 2

∵ y-coordinate = 2

∴ Point (-2, 2) lies on the line

∵ The three ordered pairs lie on the line

∴ The group of all ordered pairs lie on the line is (3, 7), (2, 6), (-2, 2)

∵ The ordered pairs are (1, 5), (-6, 2), (-7, -3)

∵ x = 1

∴ y = 1 + 4 = 5

∵ y-coordinate = 5

∴ Point (1, 5) lies on the line

∵ x = -6

∴ y = -6 + 4 = -2

∵ y-coordinate = 2

∴ Point (-6, 2) doesn't lie on the line
