Answer: 7

Step-by-step explanation:

For c, we are given this sum from 1 to 3 of \frac{n^2}{2}. 1/2 is a constant , therefore, we can move it outside of the summation.

*I hope you can understand what I'm saying. I can't figure out how to type in summations into the equations section.

1/2∑₁³n²

This means you would multiply the sum of n² from 1 to 3 by 1/2.

We are told n=1 to n=3 so we would plug 1, 2, 3 into n.

1²=1

2²=4

3²=9

We would add them together since that is what the sum sign tells us to do.

1+4+9=14

Now that we know the sum, we multiply it with 1/2

14/2=7

Use a net to find the surface area of the right triangular prism shown below:
Stolb23 [73]
Bottom rectangle = 10*7 = 70
Top rectangle = 8*7 = 56
Side rectangle = 6*7 = 42
Side triangle = (1/2)*8*6 = 24
Side triangle = (1/2)*8*6 = 24
--------------------------------------------------

Total surface area = 70+56+42+24+24 = 216

HELP:Sarah, who is 19 feet away from Justin, has a ball in her hand. Sarah throws the ball away from Justin at a speed of 5 feet
Paha777 [63]

Answer:

Justin is 1 feet far away from Brandon

Step-by-step explanation:

As shown in the diagram, we let the distance between Justin and Brandon be x

Speed = \frac{distance}{time}

from the question

the total time taken by the ball to reach Brandson=4s

Also the total distance is travelled by the ball=19+x

while the average speed=5ft/s

By substitution we obtain

5 =  \frac{19 + x}{4}

\implies4 \times 5 = 19 + x

\implies20=19 + x

\implies20 - 19 =  x

x=1 feet
