5x+4.27xy+20y+36y-19x+9.11

So what I did was the terms that were alike like this: (5x -19x)+(20y+36y)+4.27xy+9.11. Then I simplified and got -14x+56y+4.27xy+9.11. The terms 4.27xy and 9.11 were not in ()'s because they were the only ones with an alike term. Hope that helps and also try to doing the steps and see what you get. If you get it wrong look to see where you messed up and try again! If I am wrong please notify me, I would appreciate it!

George Martin loves The Beatles. Honestly, who doesn’t? On George’s favorite Spotify playlist, 40% of the songs are by The Beatl
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

17.5%

Step-by-step explanation:

First of all, see this situation as a cumulative binomial distribution. You have isolated trials with a probability of success. This makes it binomial. The wording of the question "what is the probability of at least half..." makes this cumulative.

There are a few ways to calculate this, and I'm not quite sure which way you're familiar with. I'll show the cumbersome way and use wolfram to make the calculation.

First, I'll calculate the probability for 15 success, given 30 trials.

30c15*0.4^15*0.6^15

Since the question asks for the probability of at least 15 success, I'll have to make a calculation for the probability of 16 successes, then 17, and so on. Then I'll have to add all the probabilities together. So, I'll use wolfram for that (see attached)

If you had a 15 foot ladder, how far away from the base of a wall would you have to put it to reach a window 12 feet up?
Kruka [31]

Answer:

9.000000001

Step-by-step explanation:

If the hypotenuse is  15, the ladder, facing the right angle, and the opposite is 12 we need to use SOH to find the angle.

sin of angle is opposite / hypotenuse

sin of angle is 12 / 15

12/15 = 0.8

sin^-1 of 0.8 = 53.13010235

Angle is that

Then we do this again but a different equation

cos of angle is adjacent (x which we are looking for) / hypotenuse

cos of 53.13... is x / 15

(15 x cos of 53.13... )is x

So 15 x cos of 53.13... is 9.000000001 feet away.
