Part of human nature is our attempt to explain things we cannot understand. People want to fill in gaps in knowledge that can't be rationally answered through experimentation and observation. Because we can't use logic to explain such situations, however, the alternative becomes the development of a mythological explanation, using supernatural beings or powers or events to provide the explanation that is unavailable otherwise. I choose to look on myths as indications of human creativity and the deep need to introduce faith in something greater than ourselves into our existence. We all desire order in our lives - myths help to provide it in situations where no other explanation is apparent

tia_tia [17]

I believe the answer is: increases resources available for their children.

This could even be seen in modern day mate selection. When you observe it, you would notice that men with 'high power/influence' tend to have the largest option in term of selection. This happen because high power/influence is usually correlated with ability to obtain large amount of resource (wealth/connections)

Identify the factors that made it difficult for africa to benefit from the green revolution in twentieth-century agriculture.
Phoenix [80]

Answer:

There are many reasons why the Green Revolution has not benefited countries in Africa as it has elsewhere including the small landholding patterns, lack of irrigation, and lack of dealer networks.

Explanation:

The Green Revolution refers to advances in agricultural practices due to high-yielding varieties (HYVs) of grains like wheat and rice, as well as chemical fertilizers which increased production especially in areas of Asia in the 1950s and 1960s. Unfortunately, Sub-Saharan Africa has not seen much benefit or increase in production from Green Revolution techniques like other areas of the world. This is due to unpredictable rainfall levels, lack of irrigation, and problems with soil fertility. In some areas, the land is owned in small parcels by individual owners and they operate on a more subsistence level or for local selling in the community. Added to this are socio-economic factors like lack of dealer networks to move product, the unavailability of credit, and the high cost of agrochemicals when the farmers are cash poor.
