Answer:

Total Surface Area of the Prism=640 square meters

Chris made a mistake in calculating the area of the rectangular base.

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Dimension of the Triangle</u>

Base=16m, Height=15m

Area of the Two triangular Faces =0.5 X 16 X 15 X 2=240 square meters

This is correct

<u>Dimensions of the Rectangles</u>

16m by 8m, 17m by 8m, 17m by 8m

Area of the Rectangular Faces=(17X8)+(17X8)+(16X8)=400 square meters

  • Total Surface Area of the Prism=240+400=640 square meters

  • Chris' Error was in calculating the area of the base of the prism as (17 x 8) instead of (16 X 8).

82 is 90% of what number?
chubhunter [2.5K]
You need to do like this:
\frac{no.}{100} =  \frac{is}{of}
Plug the numbers into the formula:
\frac{82}{100} =  \frac{90}{?} because they said <u>is </u>90  and <u>of</u> what?
Multiply diagnally: 100 × 90 = 9000 ÷ 82 ≈ 109.76
i don't really sure it was completly correct but hoped it helps:)

Enter the equation of the circle with the given center and radius.
Lapatulllka [165]

Answer:

(x-0)^{2} + (y-5)^{2}  = 25

Step-by-step explanation:

The "template" equation of a circle is:

(x-h)^{2} + (y-k)^{2} = r^{2}

All you're doing after that, is filling in the blanks:

h = 0

k = 5

r = 5

Find a2 and a3 for the geometric sequence 4, a2, a3, 108.
LekaFEV [45]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  a2 = 12

  a3 = 36

Step-by-step explanation:

Terms of a geometric sequence have a common ratio. If we call that ratio r, then we have ...

  a2 = 4r

  a3 = (a2)r = 4r^2

  108 = (a3)r = 4r^3

  27 = r^3 . . . . . . . . . . . divide by 4

  3 = r . . . . . . . . . . cube root

__

  a2 = 4(3) = 12

  a3 = 12(3) = 36
