A line contains the point (4, 5) and is perpendicular to a line with a slope of . Write an equation of the line satisfying the g
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

See example below.

Step-by-step explanation:

This question does not state the slope. But here is an example with the same point (4,5). Perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes. If the slope of one line is -8, its perpendicular line will have the slope of 1/8.

Substitute m = 1/8 and (4, 5) into the point slope form of a line.

y - y_1 = m(x-x_1)\\y - 5 = \frac{1}{8}(x -4)\\y - 5 = \frac{1}{8}x +\frac{1}{2}\\ y = \frac{1}{8}x \frac{11}{2}

a pole that is 3.3m tall casts a shadow that is 1.77 m long. at the same time , a nearby tower casts a shadow that is 38.5 m lon
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer:

21m

Step-by-step explanation:

First, divide 38.5 by 3.3.

Then, multiply that number by 1.77.

You will get 20.65...

Rounded, you will get 21 because .65 is bigger than half of one.

Horizontal asymptotes?

<h3>Answer: Choice A) y = 2</h3>

How I got that answer:

The degrees of both the numerator and denominator polynomial are both 2

Degree of 10x^2 is 2

Degree of 5x^2+1 is 2

Because the degrees are equal, this means we divide the leading coefficients 10 and 5 to get 10/5 = 2.

As x gets really really large, in either positive or negative direction, then y is slowly going to approach y = 2.

A graph helps confirm this. See below. I used GeoGebra to make the graph.

It looks like it actually gets to y = 2, but in reality its just getting really really close that it gives that illusion.
