You start a search for a buried object by marking the center of a field as (0,0), with coordinates giving distances in yards. Co

ordinates to the north or east are positive and coordinates to the south or west are negative. You find nothing at (-5,3), so you try a likely-looking spot 6 yards to the east and 5 yard to the south of the first spot. What are the coordinates of the second spot?

294/X= -14
Cross multiply
294= -14X
Divide both sides by -14
294 : -14 = -21
-14 gets cancelled out so the X is isolated
X= -21 or -21=X it doesn’t really matter which way you put it

Brrunno [24]

Answer:

BC = 5.87

Step-by-step explanation:

Reference angle = 50°

Side Opposite to reference angle = 7

Adjacent side = BC = ?

Apply trigonometric function, TOA, thus:

Tan 50 = Opp/Adj

Tan 50 = 7/BC

BC × Tan 50 = 7

BC = 7/Tan 50

BC = 5.87369742 ≈ 5.87 (nearest hundredth)
