<h2>Answer : Option D) NH_{4}NO_{3}</h2><h3>Explanation :</h3>

Amongst the given list of acids and bases, following are the strong acids and weak acids

Strong Acid: HBr, HNO_{3} and H_{2}SO_{4}

Weak Acid: CH_{3}COOH and HCOOH

And strong bases with weak bases are given below;

Strong Base: NaOH, KOH and Ca(OH)_{2}

Weak Base: NH_{4}OH and NH_{3}

Now, Acid  + Base    →    Salt   + Water

so, the salt of strong acid and weak base which will have pH < 7

will be NH_{4}NO_{3}

because of the following acid base reaction (neutralization reaction)

HNO_{3}     +      NH_{4}OH   ↔    NH_{4}NO_{3}    +    H_{2}O

galben [10]

Answer:

C) cation, loses, anion, gains

Explanation:

Lithium is a metal from Group 1, so it has 1 valence electron. Thus, it loses 1 electron to complete its octet and form the cation Li⁺.

Oxygen is a nonmetal from Group 16, so it has 6 valence electrons. Thus, it gains 2 electrons to complete its octet and form the anion O²⁻.

In the reaction between Li and O, there is a transfer of electrons making an ionic bond. In the bond, lithium would be a cation because it loses an electron, and oxygen would be an anion because it gains 2 electrons.

Calcium and bromine have formed a bond. Leading up to this, calcium gave up electrons. It was a(n) ____.
Ugo [173]

<u><em>Answer:</em></u>

It was a positive ion.

<u><em>Explanation</em></u>

In CaBr, ionic bond is present. When one of the atom loses electrons and gets positive charges and other atom gains electrons and become negative. As a result of positive and nagative charges , a ionic bond formed.

As in this case, Ca loses electrons and become positive ion while on the other hand bromide gets the electrons and become negative ion.

<em>Note:</em>

Electropositive atoms always loose electrons Like Ca while electronegative atoms always gain elelctrons like Br.
