The positive aspect of the role of the interest groups in the democratic politics of the country is that they might be able to influence the policies of the government.
They take up the matter which are very important and re normally not heard by the government. So they influence the policies of the government.
But the negative aspect of this is that they might over burden the government and pressurize them to fulfill their demands. The interest groups might take up harmful acts also sometimes.
