An incident electromagnetic wave is polarized and its E vector has a maximum value of 6 Volts/m. It is incident on a polarizer w

hose transmission axis is rotated at an angle of 45 with respect to the incident E vector. What is the maximum value of the transmitted E vector?

To solve this problem it is necessary to apply the equations related to the law of Maus.

By the law of Maus we know that

I = I_0 cos^2 \theta

Where,

I_0 = Intesity of incident light

I = Intensity of polarized light

With our values we have that

I_0 = 6V/m

\theta = 45\°

Then

I = 6*cos^2(45)

I = 3V/m

Therefore the maximum value of the transmitted E vector is 3V/m

A bicycle wheel with a radius of 0.42 m accelerates uniformly for 6.8 s from an initial angular velocity of 5.5 rad/s to a final
Art [367]

Answer:

The angular acceleration required  is 0.1765 rad/ s^2

Explanation:

The radius of the bicycle wheel has a radius of 0.42 m.

The acceleration is for time, t =  6.8 seconds.

Initial angular velocity is given as  \omega_{0}  = 5.5 rad/s

Final angular velocity is given as \omega_{f} = 6.7 rad/s

Therefore from the formula for angular speed we get

\omega_{f} = \omega_{0} + (\frac{d\omega}{dt} \times t),   where t is the time in seconds.

Therefore we get

6.7 =  5.5 + (6.8 × \frac{d\omega}{dt} )

Therefore we get the angular acceleration, \frac{d\omega}{dt} = \frac{(6.7 - 5.5 }{6.8}  = 0.1765 rad/ s^2

The angular acceleration required  is 0.1765 rad/ s^2

A circuit has two 4Ω resistors in series with each other. What is the total resistance?
Paha777 [63]

Answer: 8Ω

Explanation:

Since there are two resistors of 4Ω

connected in series, the total resistance (Rtotal) of the circuit is the sum of each resistance.

i.e Rtotal = R1 + R2

R1 = 4Ω

R2 = 4Ω

Rtotal = ?

Rtotal = 4Ω + 4Ω

Rtotal = 8Ω

Thus, the total resistance of the circuit is 8Ω

"List, from beginning to end, the stages in the weather as a cold front goes by: (a) warm air is forced upward where it cools; (
RSB [31]

Answer:

(a) warm air is forced upward where it cools;

(c) cumulonimbus or nimbo-stratus clouds form

(d) thunderstorms with heavy showers and gusty winds occur"

(b) air cools and sinks, pressure rises, rain stops;

Explanation:

  • A cold for front is a denser air , as that forms under the warmer and lighter air mass and this causes a low pressure along the  cold form and thus causes the formation of a thunderstorm where enough moisture is present and  drop in temperature occurs and in the northern hemisphere the cold front shifts the winds to from the southwest to northwest clockwise.
