Y = -5/4x + 1.....the slope here is -5/4. A perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. All that means is " flip " the slope and change the sign, resulting in 4/5 (u see how I flipped -5/4 and turned it into 4/5...I then changed the sign and made it 4/5)

y = mx + b
slope(m) = 4/5 ....we are using the negative reciprocal here
(2,6)...x = 2 and y = 6
now we sub and find b, the y int
6 = 4/5(2) + b
6 = 8/5 + b
6 - 8/5 = b
30/5 - 8/5 = b
22/5 = b

so ur perpendicular equation is : y = 4/5x + 22/5

in one month darius spends 10 hours walking dogs. How many dogs walks does he do in one month ALSO this is dividing a whole numb
MA_775_DIABLO [31]

Step-by-step explanation:

let's assume one month is 30 days you would multiply 10 by 30.

10 \times 30 = 300

which would be 300 hours in 1 month

now if one month is 31 days you would simply multiply 10 by 31.

10 \times 31 = 310

which would be 310 hours

Last year at a certain high school, there were 125 boys on the honor roll and 80 girls on the honor roll. This year, the number
Elodia [21]

Answer:

6.8% decrease

Step-by-step explanation:

a drop of 8% means that only 92% of 125 boys remained on honor roll from last year; .92 x 125 = 115

a drop of 5% means that only 95% of 80 girls remained on honor roll from last year; .95 x 80 = 76

total number of students on honor roll last year = 125 + 80 = 205

total number of students on honor roll this year = 115 + 76 = 191

percent of change = (191 - 205) ÷ 205 = -14/205 = -.068

-.068, which represents a 6.8% decrease

Two lines are perpendicular, and neither line is horizontal. Which of the following is not necessarily true of the lines?
musickatia [10]
I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option C. Two lines are perpendicular, and neither line is horizontal so it must be that the slopes of the lines are opposite reciprocals, one slope is positive and the other has a negative slope. Having different slopes so they should intersect the y-axis at different values.

the amount of water in a bathtube as it drains can be modeled by this equation with y representing the number of gallons of wate
koban [17]
Since y is representing the number of gallons of water in the tub, we need to replace y with the number of gallons remaining in the tube to find the time. Fortunately, the problem is telling us just that: 17.8 gallons. The only thing left is replacing that value in the equation, and solve for x to find the time:
17.8=-7.3x+39.7
7.3x=21.9
x= \frac{21.9}{7.3}
x=3

We can conclude that after 3 minutes the tub will have 17.8 gallons of water remaining.
