In a ballistic pendulum experiment, a small marble is fired into a cup attached to the end of a pendulum. If the mass of the mar

ble is 0.0285 kg and the mass of the pendulum is 0.250 kg , how high will the pendulum swing if the marble has an initial speed of 5.35 m/s ? Assume that the mass of the pendulum is concentrated at its end so that linear momentum is conserved during this collision.

Answer:

h = 0.015 m

Explanation:

m = mass of the marble = 0.0285 kg

M = mass of the pendulum = 0.250 kg

v = initial velocity of the marble before collision = 5.35 m/s

V = final velocity of marble-pendulum combination after the collision = ?

using conservation of momentum

m v = (m + M) V

(0.0285) (5.35) = (0.0285 + 0.250) V

V = 0.548 m/s

h = height gained by the marble-pendulum combination

Using conservation of energy

Potential energy gained by the combination = Kinetic energy of the combination just after collision

(m + M) gh = (0.5) (m + M) V²

gh = (0.5) V²

(9.8) h = (0.5) (0.548)²

h = 0.015 m

Thyroxine is also known as T4. The number 4 represents four atoms of
Darina [25.2K]
The number 4 represents four atoms of iodine per molecule. Thyroxine is a type of hormone produced by the thyroid gland and this hormone controls human's metabolism process. There are two hormones produced by the thyroid gland, the thyroxine and the triiodothyronine, which also control human's metabolism process. These hormones consisted of iodine atoms in each of the molecule, which human gets from eating salt.

Si tu velocidad al caminar es 0,3 m/s. Determina el tiempo que demorarias en llegar al sol en horas (REALIZAR TRANSFORMACIÓN DE
Contact [7]

Answer:

138,516,546.9 horas.

Explanation:

Tenemos que usar la ecuación:

Velocidad = distancia/tiempo

Acá tenemos:

Velocidad = 0.3m/s

distancia = 149597870700 m

y queremos resolver la ecuación para el tiempo:

0.3m/s =  149597870700m/tiempo.

tiempo =  149597870700m/(0.3m/s) = 498,659,569,000 s

y sabemos que una hora tiene 3600 segundos, entonces si queremos transformar de segundos a horas tenemos:

498,659,569,000 s = (498,659,569,000/3600) h = 138,516,546.9 horas.

Why does gravity hold objects on earth?
LUCKY_DIMON [66]

Gravity is an attractive force that works to pull objects together. If 2 objects are close the gravitational pull will be stronger
Mass and distance determine gravity. The farther two things are away from each other, the weaker the gravitational forces are, the less mass an object has the less gravitational force it exerts
