Answer:

Required Probability = 0.01659

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that the laptop replacement times have a mean of 3.3 years and a standard deviation of 0.6 years i.e.; \mu = 3.3 years   and  \sigma = 0.6 years

Sample of 41 is taken i.e. n = 41.

The Z score probability is given by;

      Z = \frac{Xbar -\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } ~ N(0,1)

Let X bar = mean replacement time

So, probability that randomly selected laptop have a mean replacement time of 3.1 years or less = P(X bar <= 3.1 years)

P(X bar <= 3.1) = P( \frac{Xbar -\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } <= \frac{3.1 -3.3}{\frac{0.6}{\sqrt{41} } } ) = P(Z <= -2.13) = 1 - P(Z < 2.13)

                                                             = 1 - 0.98341 = 0.01659

Therefore, probability that 41 randomly selected laptops will have a mean replacement time of 3.1 years or less is 0.01659 .

Due to a leak, the amount of water in a pool is decreasing by 5858 gal every hour.
Dafna1 [17]
Here is the solution to the given problem above.
Given the the amount of water in a pool is decreasing 5/8 gallon every hour.
And what would be the change in the number of gallons after 3/4 hour. So what we are going to do is just to multiply 5/8 by 3/4. And the result would be 15/32. The total change in the number of gallons of water in the pool after 3/4 hour would be 15/32 gallons.

In a recent snail race, a snail traveled a distance of 1 1/6 inches in 2 minutes. Find the number if inches traveled per minute
Alecsey [184]

Answer:

For inch/min =0.9167 inch/min

For min/inch = 1.0908 min/inch

Step-by-step explanation:

The snail in the race traveled 11/6 inches in 2 minutes.

The number of inches per minute is equal to = (11/6)/(2)

= 11/12

=0.9167 inch/min

The number of minutes per inch is equal to = 1/(inch per min)

= 1/0.9167

= 1.0908 min/inch

Minutes per inch is gotten by taking the inverse of inch/min or dividing the number of minutes by number of inches

Andy is hanging wallpaper in his kitchen. He is able to cover of the walls in the room using 6 rolls of wallpaper. What is the n
Alchen [17]

Answer: Andy covers all the walls of his kitchen using 6 rolls of a wallpaper.

To Find:

Number of rolls used per wall.

Solution:

Since, we know that the shape of a kitchen is a cuboid.

And a cuboid has total 6 faces, with 4 walls, one roof and one floor.

So, total number of walls in Andy's kitchen = 4

Now, it is given that he uses 6 rolls of wallpaper to cover 4 walls completely.

In order to find the number of rolls used per wall, we'll have to divide the total number of rolls used with the total number of walls.

Number of rolls used per wall =

                                                 So, 1.5 rolls are used to cover one wall.
