The restriction enzymes of bacteria protect the bacteria from successful attack by bacteriophages, whose genomes can be degraded

by the restriction enzymes. the bacterial genomes are not vulnerable to these restriction enzymes because bacterial dna is methylated. this situation selects for bacteriophages whose genomes are also methylated. as new strains of resistant bacteriophages become more prevalent, this in turn selects for bacteria whose genomes are not methylated and whose restriction enzymes instead degrade methylated dna. over the course of evolutionary time, what should occur

The correct answer is;  Methylated and nonmethylated strains should be maintained among both bacteria and bacteriophages, with ratios that vary over time. Restriction enzyme are protein produced by bacteria that cleaves DNA at specific sites along the molecule. In bacterial cell, restriction enzymes cleave foreign DNA, thus eliminating infecting organisms.

When information has to cross our corpus callosum, we respond _____ when the information does not cross the corpus callosum?
adell [148]

When information has to cross our corpus callosum, we respond slower than when the information does not cross the corpus callosum.

Corpus callosum is a bundle of nerve fibers that connects the left and right cerebral hemispheres and enables them to communicate. It has been shown that corpus callosum can have both, an inhibitory and excitatory influence on the contralateral hemisphere.

Why does water move through a membrane?
AnnZ [28]

Answer:

The cells need water to maintain their metabolic functions, the way water enters through cells membranes is by osmosis.

Explanation:

The cell membrane is a lipidic bilayer composed of phospholipids and embedded proteins. Phospholipids have the characteristic of being amphiphilic which means that possess hydrophilic and lipophilic characteristics. The most common way is by osmosis, that is a mechanism that moves water from high concentration to less concentration of water.  In the cell membrane, there are is channels of proteins called aquaporins that facilitate the pass of water through the membrane. Also, as water is a very small molecule without charge, this characteristic allows passing a limit amount of water molecules through the hydrophilic characteristic of membranes.
