2. Disability

3.Gender reassignment

4. Marriage and civil partnership

5. Race

6. Religion or belief

Explanation:

In the United States, the equality Act of 2010 was the latest act to elaborate on the characteristics of those protected against discrimination. The protected characteristics covered by the law are; marriage and civil partnership, race, age, gender, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, disability and pregnancy and maternity.

1. Age: protects employees of all ages but gives the employer the right to justify direct discrimination.

2. Disability: the law states that it is not fair to treat someone in a way that doesn't favor them especially if it is something directly connected to their disability.

3.Gender reassignment: its is unfair to discriminate against those who propose to start or complete to change their gender especially if they miss work for that particular reason.

4. Marriage and civil partnership: the act continues to protect married people and people in civil partnerships

4. Pregnancy and maternity: the act protects women who are pregnant from discrimination.

5. Race: the act still continues to protect discrimination on any individual based on race including; nationality, ethnicity and color.

6. Religion or belief: the act protects against discrimination on someone's religion and belief as well as no belief.

7. Sex: the act protects against discrimination against people on the basis of sex.

8. Sexual orientation: involves protection of gays, lesbians and heterosexuals due to their sexual orientation.

Decide if the following probability is classical, empirical, or subjective.
wlad13 [49]

Answer:

Classical probability

Explanation:

Classical probability is calculated only when all possible outcomes in the sample space are down and equally likely to occur. It is the probability of known events or events whose resulting probabilities are definitive

For example, students are either left-handed, right-handed or ambidextrous

Subjective probability is a guess on the likelihood an event would occur.

Experimental probability is the probability derived by repeatedly carrying out an experiment and recording the outcomes

Brinkman Corporation bought equipment on January 1, 2007 .The equipment cost $90,000 and had an expected salvage value of $15,00
trapecia [35]

Answer:

b. $75,000

Explanation:

Depreciable cost is the amount of an asset's cost that will be depreciated. Depreciable cost is calculated by using purchase and installation cost of a fixed asset, minus its estimated salvage value at the end of its useful life.

Depreciable cost = Total asset cost - salvage value = $90,000 - $15,000 = $75,000

The company then uses a depreciation method, such as the straight-line method, to calculate depreciation expense of the equipment.

Example:

Annual Depreciation expense = $75,000/6 = $12,500

Quad Enterprises is considering a new three-year expansion project that requires an initial fixed asset investment of $2.88 mill
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

Years            Cash Flow

Year 0           -$ 3,240,000

Year 1            $ 1,192,050

Year 2           $ 1,304,106

Year 3           $ 1,595,994

If the required return is 10 percent, what is the project's NPV?

using a financial calculator, NPV = $120,549.29

Explanation:

cash flow year 0 = $2,880,000 + $360,000 = $3,240,000

MACRS depreciation

33.33% x $2,880,000 = $960,000

44.45% x $2,880,000 = $1,280,160

14.81% x $2,880,000 = $399,840 (since salvage value is $240,000)

cash flow year 1 = [($2,140,00 - $823,000 - $960,000) x 0.65] + $960,000 = $1,192,050

cash flow year 2 = [($2,140,00 - $823,000 - $1,280,160) x 0.65] + $1,280,160 = $1,304,106

cash flow year 3 = [($2,140,00 - $823,000 - $399,840) x 0.65] + $399,840 + $240,000 + $360,000 = $1,595,994
