Nathan mixed x quarts of milk containing 2% fat with y quarts of milk containing 4% fat. The total amount of the mixture was 9 q

uarts, and it contained a total of 0.24 quart of fat. This situation is represented by the system of equations shown below.
x + y = 9
0.02x + 0.04y = 0.24

What statement is true?

A)Nathan used twice as much 2% milk as 4% milk.

B)Nathan used twice as much 4% milk as 2% milk.

C)Nathan used 2 quarts more 2% milk than 4% milk.

D)Nathan used 2 quarts more 4% milk than 2% milk.

I am just checking to make sure that I'm correct.For this I chose answer A.Thanks for the help in advance.

X + y = 9 .....x = 9 - y
0.02x + 0.04y = 0.24

0.02(9 - y) + 0.04y = 0.24
0.18 - 0.02y + 0.04y = 0.24
-0.02y + 0.04y = 0.24 - 0.18
0.02y = 0.06
y = 0.06 / 0.02
y = 3......4% milk

x + y = 9
x + 3 = 9
x = 9 - 3
x = 6 ....2% milk

Nathan used twice as much 2% milk as 4% milk....u r correct

A jar contains six blue marbles and five red marbles. Suppose you choose a marble at random, and do not replace it. Then you ch
TEA [102]

The jar has 6+5=11 marbles.

We have to find the probability of the following event:

1.We pick a marble from a jar that has 11 marbles in total, 5 of them are red

2.We pick a marble from a jar that has now 10 marbles in total, 4 of them are red (because in the previous step we picked a red marble and did not put it back in the jar)

The probability of the first event is:

P_1=\frac{5}{11}

The probability of the second event is:

P_2=\frac{4}{10}=\frac{2}{5}

The probability of the both events to happen is:

P=P_1\cdot P_2=\frac{5}{11}\cdot \frac{2}{5}=\frac{2}{11}=0.1818

Right △EFG has its right angle at F, EG=8 , and FG=2 .
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

Tan E = 2 / 7.75

Sin G = 7.75 / 8

Sec G = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the attached document for better illustration of the triangle

Assuming the hypothenus of the triangle is 8 = EG since it's the longest side of the triangle.

FG = 2 = opposite side of the triangle.

We can use pythagorean theorem to find the adjacent of the triangle since we already know two sides.

EG² = FG² + EF²

EF² = EG² - FG²

EF² = 8² - 2²

EF² = 64 - 4

EF² = 60

EF = √(60)

EF = 7.7459 = 7.75

To find the respective trignometric ratio, we can use the relation SOH CAH TOA

Sine = opposite / hypothenus

Cosine = adjacent/ hypothenus

Tangent = opposite/ adjacent

A. tan E

Tan E = opposite/ adjacent

Tan E = 2 / 7.75

Tan E = 0.2580

B. Sin G = opposite / hypothenus

Sin G = 7.75 / 8

Sin G = 0.9687

C. Sec G = 1 / cos G

Cos G = adjacent / hypothenus

Sec G = 1 / (adjacent / hypothenus)

Sec G = hypothenus/ adjacent

Sec G = 8 / 2

Sec G = 4
