Imagine you are the speaker in “The Seafarer” and another seaman has told you to turn away from God and believe in your own abil

Sorry but without god how would you make it in life? there are only so many things you can go with doing it by yourself but that you have to speak to your god at times an ask or help

being the speaker in The Seafarer, i would not be able to turn away from God because he is very religious and also all alone at sea so the only one he could talk to or rely on would be God
