Answer:

27 chickens

Step-by-step explanation:

A chicken farmer also has cows for a total of 30 animals

Both animals have a total of 66 legs

Let a represent the number of chicken

Let b represent the number of cows

a + b= 30........equation 1

Since a chicken has only two legs and a cow has four leg then, the expression can be represented as

2a + 4b= 66........equation 2

From equation 1

a + b= 30

a = 30-b

Substitute 30-b for a in equation 2

2a + 4b= 66

2(30-b) + 4b= 66

60 - 2b + 4b= 66

60 + 2b= 66

2b= 66-60

2b= 6

b= 6/2

b= 3

Substitute 3 for b in equation 1

a + b = 30

a + 3=30

a= 30-3

a= 27

Hence the farmer has 27 chickens

A shelter has 5 dogs for every 4.cats. How many cats will the shelter have if they have 25 dogs?
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

20 cats

Step-by-step explanation:

A proportion has to be setup to answer this

5/4 = 25/x

x represents the missing number of cats

This fraction represents the relationship amongst dogs and cats

----

To solve cross multiply

5x = 100

(let me down below if you need an explanation on how to cross multiply)

Divide both sides by 5 in order to get the variable by itself

100/5 = 20

x = 20

The shelter has 20 cats

Answer:  13%

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that the formula to find the simple interest :

I=Prt, where P is the principal amount , r is rate (in decimal )and t is the time period (in years).

Given : Albert borrowed $19,100 for 4 years. The simple interest is $9932.00. Find the rate.

i.e. P = $19,100 and  t= 4 years and I = $9932.00

Now, Substitute all the values in the formula , we get

9932=(19100)r(4)\\\\\Rightarrow\ r=\dfrac{9932}{19100\times4}\\\\\Rightarrow\ r=0.13\ \ \ \text{[On simplifying]}

In percent, r=0.13\times100\%=13\%

Hence, the rate of interest = 13%
