7/10

Because you have to have a least common denominator which is 10. and what you do to the bottom you have to do to the top you muct do to the bottom. So Therefore Multiply 5 by 2 to get 10 and do the same to the 2, the 2 will become 4. add the 4 and the 3 to get 7 over 10

Step 1. Find the Least Common Denominator (LCD) of \frac{2}{5} , \frac{3}{10}

Method 1: By Listing Multiples
<span>List out all multiples of each denominator, and find the first common one.
</span>
Multiples of 5: 5, 10.....

Multiples of 10: 10,.....

Therefore, The (LCD) is 10.

Method 2: By Prime Factors.
List all prime factors of each denominator, and find the union<span> of these primes.
</span>
Prime factors of 5: 5

Prime factors of 10: 2, 5

Therefore, the LCD is 2*5=10

LCD = 10

Step 2. <span>Make the denominators the same as the LCD

</span>\frac{2*2}{5*2} + \frac{3}{10}
<span>
Step 3. </span><span>Simplify. Denominators are now the same

</span>\frac{4}{10} + \frac{3}{10}
<span>
Step 4. </span><span>Join the denominators

</span>\frac{4+3}{10}
<span>
Step 5. Simplify

</span>\frac{7}{10}
<span>
Done! :)

Decimal Form If Needed: 0.7</span>

Distribute and combine like trems.please show your work -7(2× - 4)-7=3(× - 5) + 4x -9
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

  -14x +21 = 7x -24

Step-by-step explanation:

We assume your use of the multiplication symbol in this problem (×) is intended to represent the variable x.

The distributive property tells you that the factor outside parentheses multiplies each of the terms inside parentheses:

  a(b+c) = ab+ac

Your equation can be simplified as ...

  -7(2x -4) -7 = 3(x -5) +4x -9 . . . . given

  -7(2x) +(-7)(-4) -7 = 3x +3(-5) +4x -9 . . . . use the distributive property

  -14x +28 -7 = 3x -15 +4x -9 . . . . . . . . . . . carry out the multiplication

  -14x +21 = x(3+4) -(15 +9) . . . . identify and group like terms on the right*

  -14x +21 = 7x -24 . . . . . . . . . . do the arithmetic

_____

* note that the distributive property can also be used to combine terms:

  3x +4x = x(3+4) = 7x
