American Dental Association I leave some information about the association

The American Dental Association is much more.

For starters, do you know that the ADA is the largest and oldest dental society in the world? Is true. The first ADA meeting was held on August 3, 1859, two years before the start of the Civil War and only 83 years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. And since that day the ADA has expanded to include more than 156,000 dentists from all states and Puerto Rico, it has increased its reach to support knowledge not only for those who care for teeth, but also for patients and their families.

Personal oral health has changed dramatically since the ADA was founded, a time when most people lost all their teeth at age 40. Centuries ago, our country was plagued by bad teeth, in fact, our first president, George Washington, was famous for his dentures made of carved ivory. In the mid-19th century, dust and toothpaste (stored in a jar) were the standard tools used for cleaning teeth at home. Prepared by the dentists themselves, the tools used to be very neglected and easily contaminated.
