Mathematics

A = 0.2777 ... = 0.2(7)

10a = 10 * 0.2(7)=2.(7)
100a = 100 * 0.2(7) = 27.(7)

100a - 10a = 27.(7) - 2.(7)
90a = 25

a=\frac{25}{90}=\frac{5}{18}

The director of health services is concerned about a possible flu outbreak at her college.

"Given that he is male" is an important phrase here. The "given" in any probability problem is often important. This tells us "only focus on the males" because we know 100% that whoever we picked, the person is a male.

So we only focus on the "male" column. Use a highlighter to mark this column or cover up the other values if they are too distracting. There are 51 males total (bottom row) and 39 males had a flu shot (top row)

Divide the two values: 39/51 = (13*3)/(17*3) = 13/17

Answer: 13/17

3/7 x 28/9 x 15/17 ... how do I use cancellation? my answer was 15/17 but thats not the right answer, can someone explain this a
Ne4ueva [31]
First you cancel 7 and 28, and 3 and 9, so that leaves you with 4/3 x 15/17, then you cancel 3 and 15 so you get 4x5/17 which should give you 20/17!

According to the table, Tasha initially had blank dollars before purchasing songs, and the cost of each song was blank dollars
melomori [17]

Total money before purchasing = $30

Cost of each song = $1.20

Solution:

According to the table,

No. of songs    Amount

        2                 27.60

        3                 26.40

        4                 25.20

Difference between amount she have after bought 3 songs to 2 songs:

27.60 – 26.40 = 1.20

Difference between amount she have after bought 4 songs to 3 songs:

26.40 – 25.20 = 1.20

So, the cost of each song = $1.20

Amount of money she had after purchasing one song = $27.60 + $1.20

                                                                                          = $28.80

Tasha initially had before purchasing songs = $28.80 + $1.20

                                                                         = $30

Hence Tasha initially had $30 before purchasing songs and the cost of each song was $1.20.

Determine the mean absolute deviation of the data.9, 7, 11, 10, 8
Darya [45]

Answer:

mean=average which means you add all of the numbers and divide by the number of numbers there are, which sounds pretty confusing, but i'll show you! 9+7+11+10+8=45, now you divide 45 by 5, which is how many numbers there are that we had to add. 45 divided by 5 is 9, which means the MEAN/average is 9!

Step-by-step explanation:

hope this helps!
