Why is formation of atp by atp synthase in the mitochondria known as oxidative phosphorylation?

Biology

Answer:

Because the redox reactions create proton gradient which is responsible for the production of ATP

Explanation:

During the process of aerobic respiration, the electron transport occurs in mitochondria through a sequence which is known as electron transport chain. When electrons are transferred from one complex to the other complex present in the inner membrane of mitochondria, the redox reactions occur and as a result of these redox reactions the proton gradient is created across the inner membrane of mitochondria. This proton gradient is further used to drive the synthesis of ATP with the help of ATP synthase. As the redox reactions create proton gradient which is responsible for the production of ATP, the process is named as the oxidative phosphorylation.

No other cell in your body has the structure of a neuron. based on your knowledge of form and function, what can you infer from
noname [10]

It follows that no other cell in the body performs a neuron's exact functions.

What about neurons?

 • Information is transmitted via neurons.
 • They communicate between various brain regions and between the brain and the rest of the nervous system through electrical impulses and chemical signals.
 • The basic building blocks of the brain and nervous system are neurons (also known as neurones or nerve cells).
 • The cells known as neurons are responsible for receiving sensory data from the outside world, sending commands to our muscles, and converting and relaying electrical signals at various points along the road.
 • The bulk of neurons in vertebrates are found in the central nervous system, however some are found in peripheral ganglia and many sensory neurons are found in sensory organs like the retina and ear.
 • A neuron is made up of a cell body, which includes a nucleus and cytoplasm, from which long, thin portions that resemble hair grow.
 • The neuron's lone long component, known as the axon, is responsible for carrying nerve impulses to various body areas.
 • Dendrites are the short, branching components of the neuron.

In an experimental design, a(n) ____________ group is not exposed to the treatment, and this allows a researcher to identify any
PolarNik [594]

Answer: normal

Explanation:

In experimental design, especially those involving drug treatment, specimens (e.g mice, rabbit etc) are drafted into several groups to study their degree of response to the particular drug being investigated.

Of all, a group of specimens named NORMAL is usually NOT exposed to treatment in order to

- allow objective comparison between scientific parameters before and after experiments
