The opposite of a number sometimes can be greater than the number itself, it depends on what type of number it is, negative or positive. If the number is a negative than its opposite is always greater than itself. On the other hand if the number is positive, then its opposite is NEVER greater than itself.

It could be greater if that number was a negative or if the number is a positive it could be less then it's opposite. ex. 58 is greater than -58 they are opposite. ex.-19 is less than 19
