During a support group session for battered women, a client says, "I was abused by my father and then my husband, so I finally s

tabbed my husband when he came after me, but no one on the jury believed me "cause my husband, the ‘big shot,' can lie to anyone and be believed." If no one in the group responds, which statement is the therapeutic response by the nurse?
1. "A pretty horrible experience for you to undergo. Does anyone in the group want to respond?"2. "Yes. Everyone here was ill-used and abused, but what makes you think that this is a reason to stab someone?"3. "Your story is very much like every woman's here. I think you had other options besides violence, don't you?"4. "Seems as if you went from one abusing man to another. Do you really think you're here because your husband is a good liar and a ‘big shot'?"

The first one, the others are crude and brutal. It’s also group therapy, so the nurse would ask if other patients want to share.

What is the importance of calculating your BMR
sertanlavr [38]

Answer:

"Knowing your Basal Metabolic Rate is important whether you want to maintain your weight, lose weight, or even gain weight. Your BMR can help determine what number of calories you should be eating in order to meet your goals. If you want to lose weight, you will need to eat less than your BMR (or maintenance calories)"

"The higher your BMI, the higher your risk for certain diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, gallstones, breathing problems, and certain cancers"

so basically its the energy that requires your body to work while you sit idle.  but the reason above is the importance of caculating the BMR. This is what I researched, but feel free to look more in depth about it if I didnt clear it up :)

Explanation:

"Your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the minimum level of energy your body needs when at rest to function effectively including your respiratory and circulatory organs, neural system, liver, kidneys, and other organs (you even burn calories when sleeping).  About 70% of calories consumed every day are used for your basal metabolism."

Question 1
malfutka [58]

Answer:

Explanation:

Ethical values are essential for any healthcare provider. Ethics comes from the Greek word “ethos,” meaning character. Ethical values are universal rules of conduct that provide a practical basis for identifying what kinds of actions, intentions, and motives are valued.[1] Ethics are moral principles that govern how the person or a group will behave or conduct themselves. The focus pertains to the right and wrong of actions and encompasses the decision-making process of determining the ultimate consequences of those actions.[2] Each person has their own set of personal ethics and morals. Ethics within healthcare are important because workers must recognize healthcare dilemmas, make good judgments and decisions based on their values while keeping within the laws that govern them. To practice competently with integrity, nurses, like all healthcare professionals, must have regulation and guidance within the profession.[3] The American Nurses Association (ANA) has developed the Code of Ethics for this purpose
