Honestly, I'm not positive myself. All I can say is that overworking your joints without enough cool-down time will put you at high risk for arthritis.
Wash hands
wash fruits vegetables etc..
cool to the right temperature
keep certain types of food separate

Yes, depending on the perspective. If it's going to be because they want you to, than no. If it's going to be a continuous thing to lose weight, get in shape, etc, than yes.
