In this scenario, the two student's approach won't work because amino acids (and therefore all proteins) also have nitrogen atoms which ultimately means that the radioactivity would not distinguish between DNA and proteins and the experiment will not provide the correct results.

In some cases, skin cancers are hereditary and an increased risk of developing the disease can be passed from parent to child. If members of the same or multiple members being diagnosed the chance it being passed down to your children is higher.
