Accommodation of the eye refers to its ability to change its focus from distant to near objects. This is achieved by the process of changing the lens of the eye. Accommodation also means the adjustment  of the optics of the eye to keep an object on its focus on the retina. It is also a process where a vertebrate eye  changes optical power to maintain a clear image.
